ABCD was established in 2003, leveraging the cumulative knowledge and experience of its founders in assisting entrepreneurs and start-ups to conceptualize and build new innovative and often technology-oriented/driven businesses. At its inception, ABCD was considered unconventional because of its initial technology, start-up, and SME focus. As ABCD evolved, it grew by addressing unique business and management consulting challenges whose resolution required new thinking, new perspectives and new understanding. These were skills which ABCD’s principals had developed over the years in dealing with atypical companies, who often developed new technologies and business models. Over time, ABCD developed an inventory of skills, experience and networks which enables it to address a variety of consulting undertakings with Start-ups, SMEs, Corporates, NGOs and Governments.
General:
ABCD works with private enterprise, particularly entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). With a comprehensive set of professional consultancy, entrepreneurship training and business support services including incubation, mentoring and technical support, ABCD helps entrepreneurs identify their competitive edge as well as conceptualize and commercialize their business ideas. ABCD facilitates the resilience and the transition of existing enterprises from Micro to Small, Small to Medium and Medium to Large in order to make businesses more profitable, sustainable and active in the recruitment of national talent and job creation.
ABCD works with governments to help improve the business environment of countries. ABCD works on national innovation policies as well as assists countries in the MENA region to establish incubator systems to help facilitate entrepreneurship and support SME development. ABCD has been instrumental in working on national economic planning initiatives such as the private sector-led Jordan Vision 2020 (V1.0 and V 2.0) initiatives as well as the recent Jordan National ICT Strategy (2013 – 2017).
ABCD works with local NGOs and international and multi-lateral donor and development organizations responsible for broad development objectives. ABCD has worked with United Nation’s organizations, USAID, GIZ, and others to help integrate women and underprivileged youth into the workforce, to address social and financial issues related to juvenile law, to draft SME policies for advocacy, to evaluate and assess the impact of implemented projects and to design and implement capacity building and developmental projects.
